Why Dirt2Dollars Charges a Flat Fee Instead of Per Lead or Commission

A contractor asked me last week why we do not just charge per appointment. Fair question. The answer is the reason our pricing looks the way it does.
Three Ways a Marketing Company Can Charge You
There are really only three pricing models in this space. Pay per lead. Pay a percentage of closed jobs. Or pay a flat fee for the system.
We chose the flat fee on purpose. Every other model ends up costing you more, and I will show you exactly how.
What Dirt2Dollars Is and Is Not
Dirt2Dollars is a done-for-you marketing agency. We are not a coaching program. This is not a course. We run your ads, build your website and landing pages, and handle all of your marketing. Our in-house sales team books qualified on-site appointments directly on your calendar. All you have to do is show up and close the deal.
That distinction matters for pricing. A coaching program charges you to learn. We charge you to get results delivered to your calendar while you run the machine.
Why Per-Lead Pricing Is a Trap
Per-lead pricing sounds fair. You only pay for what you get. The problem is what you actually get.
When a company makes money on every lead, they have no reason to filter. The tire kicker who wants a price over the phone counts. The guy who filled out a form by accident counts. The property owner who already hired someone counts.
We would rather send you five on-site appointments and have all five be real than send you twenty names and have five be real. Per-lead pricing rewards volume. Our pricing rewards closed jobs.
Why Commission Pricing Would Bankrupt You
The second model is a percentage of closed work. Some companies take 10% to 15% of every job they touch.
Here is why that is a terrible deal for a land clearing contractor. One of our clients, Anthony, landed a $12.4 million commercial development contract that started with a Facebook ad we ran. 80 acres, 47 homes, four years of work.
At a 10% commission, that one job would have cost him $1.24 million in fees. He paid us a flat rate. The entire upside was his.
Your jobs are big. That is the whole point of this trade. Commission pricing punishes you for winning.
Why a Flat Fee Is the Only Fair Model
With a flat fee, we get paid the same whether you close a $5,000 job or a $500,000 job. That means our only incentive is to put real, qualified property owners in front of you as often as possible.
It also means your cost is predictable. You know what you are investing. You can run the math on it. You can scale ad spend up without the fee chasing you.
What the Flat Fee Actually Is
Most contractors invest between $1,500 and $15,000 per month with Dirt2Dollars. Where you land in that range depends on how many markets you run, how much ad spend you put behind it, and how fast you want to scale.
The management side of that covers campaign creation, landing pages, your website, and our in-house sales team vetting every property owner before they land on your calendar. The ad spend side goes straight to Facebook and Instagram and acts as fuel. More fuel, more appointments.
Why We Are Not the Cheapest
I will say this plainly. Our clients are not the cheapest contractors in their markets. Some of them bid double their competition and still win the job.
They win because of what happens before the estimate. The property owner got a call fast and got followed up with until they booked. Their project was confirmed. They know the contractor is professional before anyone pulls into the driveway. That experience lets our clients set the price instead of chasing the lowest bid.
You get what you pay for with marketing, the same way you get what you pay for with equipment. A cheaper machine breaks down. Cheaper marketing sends you people who were never going to hire anyone.
The Guarantee That Comes With It
Our flagship program guarantees 30 on-site appointments in 90 days. If we miss, we keep working for free until we hit it. We do not write checks back. We deliver the appointments.
That is the trade. You commit to a flat fee. We commit to a floor on results. Nobody is guessing.
